18-year-old Liverpool defender Luke Chambers has been given a contract extension by the club after an impressive summer.

Chambers won the U19 European Championship with England before joining up with Jurgen Klopp’s first team squad for the club’s tour of Thailand and Singapore.

The defender started in Liverpool’s opening fixture defeat to Manchester United and came on as a substitute against Crystal Palace.

Chambers is an exciting young talent and it’s no surprise the club have tied him down to a lengthy contract; the youngster predominately plays at left-back but can also switch it up to centre-back when needed.

The 18-year-old finished the 2021/2022 campaign with nine goals to his name, captaining Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s side throughout the season.

Chambers will likely follow the path of other Liverpool youngsters, being sent out on loan to improve his talents further; he is definitely one to keep an eye on for the future.
