There appears to be a well-trodden path that, in recent times, has seen players leave Southampton and sign on the dotted line for Liverpool.
One such player is Nathaniel Clyne.
The 27-year-old England international arrived at Anfield with a decent reputation but, this season has struggled to make an impact with the defender making just the one start for the club.
Naturally, it’s not a scenario Nathaniel would have anticipated back in August when the season was set to begin.
However, an escape route, albeit temporary, could be about to open up for the player.
The tabloid publication, the Sun, is running with the inference that Clyne could be set to go out on loan when the January transfer window opens.
Seemingly, two clubs are said to be interested in orchestrating a deal, Fulham and Cardiff City.
It could be an ideal opportunity for Clyne to get his career back on track, impressing whilst out on loan could see Jurgen Klopp reassess the situation.
It just remains to be seen where Clyne goes once the transfer / loan window opens.
