Liverpool have struggled for form as of late and it has been no secret, with the Reds taking just 3 points from a possible 12 over their last 4 games in the Premier League.
Not only have the results been poor from the Reds but their form in front of goal has all but dried up, with them failing to score in those last four fixtures too – highlighting some really big issues in the Reds squad that need to be fixed sooner rather than later.
On the radio show TalkSPORT, former pro Jason Cundy was keen to air his thoughts on the club’s recent form, especially after their 0-0 draw with Manchester United, with Cundy saying that the front three just don’t look as sharp as they used too and are missing the absent Diogo Jota, with him highlighting Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah’s performances on Sunday…
😳 “Liverpool were there for the taking!”
👎 “I thought Firmino was poor & what has happened to Mo Salah!?”
❌ “Liverpool aren’t at the same level as they were, they don’t look sharp.”

I can understand where Cundy is coming from, the Reds have been way off the mark as of late and have been nowhere near the quality and form that we have been used to over the past few years – but he hasn’t really offered anything new or revolutionary, he’s just repeating what everyone has already said and knows.
It’s rather obvious when watching Liverpool at the moment that something is way off – and I don’t think it is solely down to the forwards as he is keen to point out.
Was Diogo Jota Liverpool's best signing in the summer?
Yes
No
Despite singling out Firmino and Salah for their performances and highlighting the absence of Diogo Jota, the chances that were being created just weren’t the same and weren’t up to the par of recent campaigns – the shape of the squad has changed due to Fabinho and Henderson having to play out of position and this has affected the build-up and approach play for the front of the team.
When you look at the types of chances that our front three were getting into during the United game you can see none of them were clear cut and none of them offered a great opportunity to open the scoring.
Whatever the case, it is clear something needs to change and that will most likely start with more defensive reinforcements to allow Fabinho and Henderson to go back to the positions where they belong.
