After scoring the hat-trick that guaranteed that Liverpool would get an impressive result, at the Vitality Stadium, away to Bournemouth, when it coming to naming the man-of-the-match, you couldn’t look much further than Mo Salah.

And that is exactly what the Sky Sports TV pundit, the former Arsenal striker Alan Smith thought nominating Salah as the recipient of the award.

But, when it came to the award being presented, despite scoring a hat-trick, Mo Salah had other ideas.

Our Egyptian striker, upon being presented the award by James Milner, refused to accept it.

Instead Salah paid homage to James Milner who made his 500th Premier League appearance today, remarking, as reported by the BBC

“I have to congratulate him for his amazing career. I hope I have more games like this in my career. But I will not take it”

A wonderful gesture from a wonderful player.
