The Reds managed a 5-0 thrashing over Italian side Atalanta in the Champions League at the start of the month, with the club hosting the side tonight during the return leg in the group stages of the competition.

Jurgen Klopp’s side goes into the game with a great run of form behind them, unbeaten in their last 8 games with 6 wins under their belt – but the same story can’t be said for La Dea, who have just one win in their last 6 games in all competitions.

Atalanta played out a 0-0 draw at the weekend against newly promoted Spezia, leaving the Bergamo club in 7th place with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses – and their form in Europe hasn’t quite been the same as it was last season, where the club reached the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in their history.

Would you start Salah against Atalanta?

In Group D, I Nerazzurri have 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss – leaving them joint-third alongside Ajax with just 4 points. The club has been a world away from the form of last season, in which they finished third in Serie A scoring 98 goals in the process – with goals drying up and results not coming their way so far this campaign.

I think the current poor form of the Italian side comes at a great time for Jurgen Klopp’s side, the club have had a great run of form as of late despite the injury setbacks so far this campaign – scoring goals galore with the inform Diogo Jota, Sadio ManĂ©, Roberto Firmino, and now Mo Salah after returning a negative test on Monday.

No matter the case, Atalanta are still a great team with special goalscoring quality and should not be underestimated despite their poor form at the moment.
