Bournemouth are reportedly readying another move for Liverpool’s 25-year-old defender Nat Phillips after the centre-back impressed during his loan spell at the club last season.

Phillips became one of Scott Parker’s key men during Bournemouth’s title-winning 2021/2022 Championship season which saw the club gain promotion to the Premier League.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Bournemouth have reignited their interest in the 25-year-old after Liverpool changed their stance on keeping the defender at the club.

Phillip’s contract with the Reds runs until 2025 but the club could be ready to cash in whilst they can on the defender.

The 25-year-old sits behind Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahim Konate and Joe Gomez in Liverpool’s defensive ranks, so there will be little chance for him to gain playing time this season.

Whilst the defender is a solid squad player, a move away from Anfield seems like the ideal solution for all parties involved and gives Phillip’s the opportunity to progress his career.

The Englishman will be fondly remembered by Reds fans for his stint in the first team during the 2020/2021 campaign; where he helped Jurgen Klopp’s side to Champions League football following an injury-ridden season.
