According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, AS Roma’s financial difficulties ever since the outbreak of recent events have forced the Serie A club to consider selling their best assets – with Liverpool target Nicolo Zaniolo now being offered at a potential cut price

Indeed, as per this update, Roma ‘cannot say no‘ to an offer for Zaniolo in the €60-70 million (£54.1m-£63.1m) range – dealing Jurgen Klopp and co the fee required to bring the Italian prodigy to Merseyside.

Should Liverpool sign Zaniolo for £54.1 million?

Over these last few months, the Reds and other Premier League teams have been reportedly monitoring Zaniolo – so much so that we have even apparently considered a swap deal including Dejan Lovren to lower his price tag as per outlet Il Sussidiario.

However, given the club’s stance on enormous transfer fees, it is debatable whether the Reds are willing to pay the £54.1m minimum requirement that would definitely force Roma into a sale.

The youngster’s ability, however, could be worth the investment – with Zaniolo having previously been described as ‘incredible‘ by Italian football legend Daniele De Rossi.

High praise from such a huge Serie A figure, Zaniolo’s stats also back up this faith from his ex-teammate – with the 21-year-old averaging more completed dribbles than any Liverpool player this season as per WhoScored before his campaign-ending injury.

Given Liverpool’s status as newly-crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 30 years, attracting such high profile talent could be made easier – but the current financial climate arguably makes moves like this seem more of a debatable prospect.
