Djibril Cisse finds himself in an unfamilar role tonight – he’ll be running out on to a pitch from the start of a football match as he starts for France against Cyprus in their World Cup qualifying tie.
The player, who in recent weeks has been warming the Anfield bench rather than warming the hearts of Liverpool fans, will be hoping Benitez & Co will see him do what every Liverpool fan knows he can do and wants him to do: score goals.
The game against Blackburn on Saturday will see Benitez have a full strikeforce to choose from so tonight Cisse could do his Liverpool career a big favour by putting in a big performance and bagging some goals.
