Speaking to Sky Sports’ Football Show via the Liverpool Echo, ex-Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann has warned Liverpool over signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner in the summer – with some supporters blasting the German in response.

Werner, who has bagged an impressive 21 goals and seven assists over 24 starts for the Bundesliga club this season, is heavily linked with a move to Anfield following consistent reports that manager Jurgen Klopp is interested.

A recent report from passioneinter.com, speaking exclusively to Bild journalist Christian Falk, revealed that Klopp even has ‘meetings scheduled’ to sign the player – potentially meaning we could trigger his £52 million release clause by mid-June.
