Speaking exclusively to 90min, Erling Haaland’s former youth coach has suggested that the striker would be best suited for a Liverpool move if he were ever to make a Premier League switch – going on to state that he has ‘all the skills‘ to play under Jurgen Klopp.
From there, the Norwegian hitman has continued his scoring streak, bagging a further nine strikes in just five Bundesliga starts – roughly averaging a goal every 57 minutes in the German top flight according to WhoScored.
Impressive numbers by any standard, the 19-year-old starlet has also drawn comparisons with Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski in the past, potentially highlighting the teenager’s capabilities as he continues to turn heads.
Due to the recent pandemic, football and therefore the goalscoring exploits of Haaland have been put on hold, but his former Bryne FK coach Alf Ingve Berntsen would love the striker to make an Anfield move in future – citing the fact that players from his native country ‘dream‘ of playing in the Premier League.
Who would you prefer to sign?
Liverpool are reportedly chasing RB Leipzig and fellow Bundesliga forward Timo Werner, with manager Klopp apparently having his sights set on a swoop for the 24-year-old as a potential challenger to Roberto Firmino.
If the alleged move does fall flat, judging by Berntsen’s comments, the Reds could consider Haaland as an alternative – especially when taking into account his sky high potential.
