Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool make contact over Bellingham transfer

|

Liverpool have officially begun their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The reliable transfer specialist claimed on his twitter that Liverpool have made the 19-year-old their top transfer target, despite latest ownership speculation.

Romano also claimed the Reds have also begun to make contact over the possible transfer of the England star, following his stunning performance and goal against Iran in the World Cup.

The teenager has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long while now and Bellingham’s world class form this season has only made the demand for the midfielder rise as well as the fee likely to be demanded by the Bundesliga side.

Jurgen Klopp will certainly have a big challenge to persuade the wonderkid to trust his project on Merseyside, with all of Europe’s elite clubs eyeing up a move especially the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea according to Romano.

With Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Arthur Melo all set to leave the club in the summer once their current contracts expire at the club, a new midfielder is a must.

Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara aren’t getting any younger either, so not only will Liverpool be looking at Bellingham but will most likely need more than one midfielder in the near future.
