Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of one of their January transfer target, with the star set to join Real Madrid instead.

That star is Palmeiras forward, Endrick, with Real Madrid set to agree a deal worth €60million for the 16-year-old wonderkid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano also revealed that PSG and Chelsea remain in the race with Barcelona as an outsider- but no mention of the Reds in any form of discussions.

The 16-year-old has been in stunning form for Palmeiras so far this season, scoring nine goals and assisting one in fourteen appearances for the Brazilian side as well as scoring five goals in four games for Brazil’s Under-17 side.

Even more impressively, the forward is averaging a goal involvement every 67 minutes which is absolutely outrageous for any player never mind a 16-year-old.

Liverpool had previously been linked with a move for the youngster, but it seems the Reds have been priced out of the deal unwilling to spend that figure on someone so young.

There is no doubt Endrick is an exciting prospect, one of the most exciting in the world in truth, but is he really what Liverpool need in their current situation right now? Probably not.

And for that price? Definitely not.

Hopefully, this sort of money will be going into signing a world-class midfielder rather than a forward as that’s where the real problems lie for Jurgen Klopp.
