Yesterday saw Liverpool return to Premier League action with a 1-0 loss to Fulham at Anfield, with two big names from the Reds squad evidently missing due to injury.

Liverpool were clearly weak in defence yesterday and struggled hugely against the Cottagers, with young duo Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips failing to deny the London club in front of goal.

New boy Ozan Kabak was absent for the game after picking up a knock after the loss to Chelsea last week but according to The Athletic’s James Pearce, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter, himself and Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino, who was also absent from the game yesterday due to a ‘little injury’, should both be passed fit in time for the club’s Champions League clash against RB Leipzig on Wednesday…

The return of the duo will be welcome news to Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday given the need for depth in quality in this Liverpool side who are not up to par in regards to the players available on the bench.

Our defensive options have been poor this season due to the ongoing injury issues, but to have Kabak return in defence and Firmino return up top offers the Reds plenty more options of better quality than what we saw start against Fulham yesterday afternoon.

Can Liverpool win the Champions League for a seventh time?

Yes

No

No

Liverpool have struggled for goals and clean sheets recently so the pair will no doubt feature against the German side, with the club attempting to build on their 2-0 lead on aggregate from the first-leg in Budapest.
