According to a report from Sky Sports, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United have just 10 days to trigger Timo Werner’s £49 million release clause – prompting some Reds supporters to react as this update emerges.
Werner has been a long-time target for the Reds, with manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly scheduling meetings to sign the player in past weeks whilst even hosting video conferences.
The Germany international is currently on a hot streak with RB Leipzig, having scored an impressive 25 goals in just 28 Bundesliga starts for the club this season – outlining his pedigree as a force to be reckoned with going forward.
However, as Chelsea and United also display an interest, Liverpool may face competition over his signature as well as needing to decide whether to pay the 24-year-old’s release clause before it expires on June 15.
As a result, these Reds have flocked to debate the news on social media – with a few of them seeming keen to get the deal done.

Werner wants us. We ignore the release clause and sign him for about 40m this summer or Leipzig risk selling him to us for 35m next summer https://t.co/lUOeGRfB8p

I get this pandemic, but with the way we have conducted ourselves the last 2 years with results and spending and income should allow an easy path for him to come in. Cash should not be an issue.
