Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Everton this evening, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp addressed long-time target Timo Werner signing for Chelsea – with plenty of supporters reacting to his verdict in response.
Indeed, flocking to Klopp quotes relayed by reliable correspondent James Pearce on Twitter, many Liverpool fans have expressed their mixed range of opinions surrounding Werner’s move to west London – coming after the manager simply asked: “”Why should I talk about a transfer of Chelsea? He’s a really good football player. That’s it.”
The Germany international signed for Frank Lampard’s side after being touted with a move to Anfield for weeks, putting pen-to-paper on a five-year-deal worth £9 million-per-season after Chelsea triggered his £45 million release clause.
Did Liverpool make a mistake not signing Werner?
No, don't need him
Scoring 26 Bundesliga goals this season for RB Leipzig, it’s little wonder why Werner was being monitored heavily by Premier League suitors – and many Reds were keen to discuss the manager’s stance on us missing out on his signature.

FSG should be ashamed. Won the champions league & about to win the league. I no we should be grateful but we can go again with investment. One big injury for the front 3 away from us crumbling in the league next year

Wow, hes clearly furious with FSG. Is it true his contract has a break clause if certain promises arent kept? Would be very surprised if he doesnt leave this summer.
