Speaking on an episode of the Blood Red Podcast, reliable Daily Mirror correspondent David Maddock believes that while transfer dealings look speculative due to a recent pandemic, he has also refused to rule out the possibility of summer swoops – prompting many Reds to react over the update.

Maddock, who has covered Liverpool for over 30 years, believes that there is still potentially a glimmer of hope in regards to business being conducted – especially when considering key targets could become available at knockdown prices.

The Reds have recently been linked with moves for Timo Werner, Houssem Aouar and Philippe Coutinho as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad for next season.

However, as a result of recent events, manager Klopp has also seemingly dismissed the notion of big-money moves.

According to Maddock, at least hypothetically, clubs could be in a situation where they must offload their key players at bargain prices to balance the books – prompting many Reds to speculate over the ‘promising‘ insight on Twitter.
