Liverpool’s youth sensation Ki-Jana Hoever is set to quit the Premier League champions after agreeing to join Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Football Insider.

The Reds have held further negotiations with Wolves over the past few days looking to thrash out transfers heading into the final two weeks of the summer market, having held successful talks with the Black Country side over the future of forward Diogo Jota.

Jota is expected to arrive on Merseyside this Saturday to carry out his obligatory medical before signing what is expected to be a five-year contract as part of a potential £45million deal, while Hoever is due to head in the opposite direction.

Wolves are likewise anticipating Hoever’s arrival this weekend before formally confirming his £13.5m transfer, which features a base £9m in guaranteed cash, £4.5m in add-ons and a 15% sell-on clause.

The 18-year-old is now in the final stages of sealing his move to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, having opted to remain in England against rival interest from Serie A giants Juventus after the Turin outfit put forward a potential transfer to Italy.

Barring any late hiccups, Hoever will leave Anfield having played four senior fixtures for Liverpool across all competitions, including his debut in the FA Cup coincidentally coming against Wolves in a 2-1 FA Cup defeat in January 2019.

Hoever’s expected move to Molineux could go down as a record departure for Liverpool, as the potential £13.5m fee could be the highest sum the Reds will have ever earned for a teenager should he activate all add-on clauses.

It is yet claimed what Hoever will need to achieve at Molineux before Liverpool will begin earning parts – or all – of the £4.5m bonus clauses, though it can likely be presumed that the versatile teenager will need to establish himself with Wolves and/or help the Black Country side clinch silverware and future places in European competitions.

Wolves fell narrowly shy of a Europa League berth at the end of last season, having ended the Premier League campaign three points behind fifth-placed Leicester City and behind Tottenham Hotspur only on goal difference.
