Liverpool have been without first-choice defender Joe Gomez since November when the 23-year-old picked up an injury when on England duty, which led to him requiring surgery on his knee.

The Reds have suffered in defence this season with Virgil van Dijk also sidelined which has left Jurgen Klopp with just one senior centre-back for the season – but Gomez has stepped up his efforts in rehabilitation recently with plenty of footage of his progress in his fight to return to full fitness.

The Englishman has kept fans in the loop with his fitness progress over recent weeks and most recently posted a video to his Twitter page of him taking part in some light rehab and fitness work – which is no doubt a real positive for Liverpool fans to see…

The video may have come out a few days ago but it is still making an impact with Reds fans like myself still over the moon that he is making positive progress so early on in his recovery.

According to Transfermarkt, Gomez isn’t scheduled to return for the Reds until the end of June but this is all dependent on how well his recovery goes – this means a return date could be earlier or even later, only time will tell.

Liverpool will hopefully find themselves with Van Dijk and Gomez back in their ranks by the end of the current campaign which hasn’t quite gone how Jurgen Klopp would have planned but nevertheless, next season will no doubt see the Reds back to full strength once again.
