Liverpool’s main man set to miss next 5 games with devastating groin injury

It is genuinely becoming more and more of a mockery of our season so far but Jurgen Klopp finds himself with another of his first-team players injured for a sustained period of time.

During our 2-0 loss to Everton on Saturday, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson found himself substituted off in the first-half after picking up a groin injury and was replaced by Nat Phillips – with the captain looking in real discomfort when he initially went down. After trying to carry on, Henderson couldn’t continue which now leaves the Reds with another lengthy injury.

After a scan yesterday and the extent of the injury being reported by The Express and cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter below, Liverpool now find themselves without their captain for the next five games, meaning he will miss our game against Chelsea at the beginning of March as well as our second-leg Round of 16 fixture against RB Leipzig…

Liverpool have had an incredible amount of injuries so far this season and finds themselves with another name to add to the current list of players on the sidelines.

Henderson being absent will be a massive downfall for Klopp’s side given the importance he has when playing, however, this drive and energy that he provides in midfield has been missing due to him having to play in defence so there is no telling just how big an impact his injury will have.

Even with our two new centre-backs the injury to Henderson is still a massive blow and one that will no doubt have an even further impact on our form and results over the next five games, so let’s hope that the squad can deal with his absence and get through this next month in one piece.
