Journalist reveals Klopp has “meetings scheduled” to sign Liverpool target – Report

|

Speaking exclusively to Passioneinter.com, Bild journalist Christian Falk has revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ‘meetings scheduled’ to sign highly-rated Reds target Timo Werner in the summer – with his valuation apparently standing at £51 million.

It’s safe to say the German attacking midfielder has been a revelation for RB Leipzig this season, scoring an impressive 21 goals and assisting seven others in just 24 Bundesliga starts, with Liverpool apparently displaying a keen interest and taking major steps in order to sign the player.

Falk, speaking to the Italian website, has claimed that manager Klopp already has meetings in place to acquire the Germany international – which could arguably put us ahead of other interested parties like Inter Milan in the pursuit of his signature.

Is Timo Werner signing for Liverpool likely this summer?

No

Werner has been a key component when it comes to RB Leipzig’s title challenge, becoming a mainstay in the side which has managed to climb to third spot in the Bundesliga – just five points off the summit behind fellow challengers Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

We have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old since as early as late February, with a report from the Athletic claiming that Werner was ‘waiting‘ on a highly-desired Reds move in time for the 2020/2021 season.

Even though football’s untimely suspension due to recent events has culminated in the complete shutdown of the Premier League season, according to Falk, our boss doesn’t seem to be wasting time in trying to land an apparent key target.

Indeed, it appears as if Liverpool are the front runners to acquire Werner this summer – with a few Liverpool fans arguably hoping that any scheduled meeting goes without hiccup.
