Liverpool could be about to receive a surprise boost to their transfer budget for the summer in the form of former forward Taiwo Awoniyi, who looks set to join Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper’s side are looking to bolster their attack ahead of their much anticipated Premier League return and see the former Liverpool forward as the perfect man to give them the goals needed to compete in Europe’s toughest league.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp’s team will profit from any move Awoniyi makes, after agreeing a 10% sell-on clause ahead of his move to German side Union Berlin last summer.
Awoniyi is an exciting talent and has excelled in the Bundesliga this campaign, proving he has what it takes to mix it with the best in Europe.
Liverpool have completed the signing of Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.
£4m fixed fee plus £2.5m in add-ons. No plans to loan him out.

Awoniyi’s time on Merseyside was plagued with work permit issues and this hindered his chances of cementing any real run at Jurgen Klopp’s first XI.
Nevertheless, the forward has picked up vital experience during loan spells across Europe, playing in Germany, Belgium and Holland.
At just 24-years-old the forward has more than enough time to progress his career even further and a move to the Premier League seems like the next step for him to take.
