Liverpool will be faced with their second challenge against Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, just one week after their stalemate in the Premier League.

The Reds failed to score for the fourth league game in a row and have been evidently performing below their usual standards as of late and will have another chance against United this weekend to right their wrongs and get the win they should have secured on Sunday in the league.

It is likely that Jurgen Klopp will select a different XI for the match given the competition and the need to change up the squad after the usual names failing to make much of an impact recently.

Due to this likelihood, Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish recently revealed on the Anfield Index podcast as cited by LiverpoolEcho that he thinks the German manager will be ready to unleash the club’s £9 million rated forward Takumi Minamno, who has impressed when called upon over the past few weeks and offers a different option up front compared to our usual front three who have been off the mark.

Is Takumi Minamino good enough for Liverpool?

Yes

No

“The boys who never play like Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones – he’ll get a game. Minamino will get a game. So it’ll be a strong team, but it’ll be interesting to see what he does at centre-back.”

I do agree that Minamino should get a chance against United especially given the fact that our usual approach hasn’t been working recently so there would be no harm in switching things up – that along with the fact that Minamino has been impressive when called upon this season, it just makes sense for him to get a start against the Red Devils.
