On Sunday, Anfield witnessed their side beating Manchester United emphatically.

Jose Mourinho’s side were beaten 3-1 and the margin of victory could have been much larger.

In his third season in charge, at Old Trafford, Manchester United are a shadow of their former selves, much to the delight of the Liverpool support.

The win also ensured that, with seventeen games completed, Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League and sit proudly on top of the table.

The support are starting to firmly believe that the 2018 / 2019 season could see that elusive first Premier League trophy come to Anfield.

Following the victory over Liverpool, a win that completed a marvellous week for Jurgen Klopp and his side, the boss was cock-a-hoop when he spoke to Sky Sports, with the gaffer quoted as having remarked:

“Over the moon about the performance. The way the boys played tonight was outstanding.

“We saw the line-up of United and their quality – how organised they were and they fight from the back. The plan was to be brave and chip the ball behind the lines.

“The first goal was if you could have drawn it would have been the goal. It’s so deserved. Top, top first-class team.”

Next up for Liverpool is an away trip to take on Wolves, in a Friday night fixture, a win against them, ahead of Manchester City playing this weekend, would go down a treat for the Liverpool faithful.

Start believing, this could be our season.
