After Wycombe Wanderers secured their place in the Championship for next campaign following a 2-1 Play-Off final victory over Oxford United at Wembley, striker Adebayo Akinfenwa’s post match interview has prompted many Liverpool supporters to swoon over the 38-year-old’s message to Jurgen Klopp. 

Akinfenwa, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions over the past two seasons for Wycombe, claimed that the only person who can contact him via WhatsApp is Reds boss Klopp – with the target man going on to say that he and our manager can ‘celebrate together‘.

Wanderers secured their place in England’s second tier following a nervy match in the capital, with Anthony Stewart gifting them an early lead only for Oxford striker Mark Sykes to draw level mid-way through the second period.

However, with both sides’ Championship dreams firmly in the balance, Joe Jacobson stepped up to score a penalty ten minutes from full-time – firing Wycombe to promotion.
