Since joining the club from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, midfielder Naby Keïta has failed to make an impact during his time at Liverpool and he looks more and more likely to leave the club sooner rather than later.

The 26-year-old joined the Reds with a big reputation and plenty of expectation to help transform the club’s midfield and take them to that next level, but after two and a half years at the club, he has failed to do so, with his Liverpool career tainted by injuries and a lack of form.

Luckily for Keïta, he could be offered a lifeline to rescue his Premie League career, with Leicester City reportedly interested in securing his services if he is available in the summer according to Football Insider.

The Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers is a fan of his ability on the ball and his work rates when fully fit, and if the rumours are true it could be just the right time for Keïta, let alone for Liverpool.

There is a feeling within the Liverpool fanbase that the club needs to cash in on Keïta now before his price tag runs so low that they end up losing more than intended after spending £54million on him in the 2018 summer window but I think it is past that now – I feel like Keïta needs to move more for himself rather than for the Reds to benefit.

I still believe Keïta has the ability to get into any midfield in the world but his injury record and lack of game time have stunted his growth and progress and I feel sorry for him.

According to the report, the reds value him at around £30million and if Leicester are genuinely interested, I don’t see why they would have a problem meeting that valuation.
