After Liverpool’s victory over Wolves on Monday night, the Reds are set for a lengthy break from the Premier League and Champions League with their next game not set until the 4th April with a trip to Arsenal.

The reason for this is due to the upcoming international break over the next few weeks with numerous countries facing challenges with friendlies and World Cup Qualifiers for the 2022 tournament in Qatar. With that comes the agonising sight of watching your club’s players leave for international duty with the hope that they don’t return with an injury after having to play almost three games in one week.

Liverpool have suffered at the hands of international breaks already this season but it has been announced that the club will allow star forward Diogo Jota to join up with the Portuguese national team next week after travel restrictions between England and Portugal were finally lifted according to The Times’ Paul Joyce, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

The forward has been a revelation for the club since joining in the summer and has grown to become an important component of Liverpool’s attacking options, even keeping Roberto Firmino out of the starting XI at times.

With Portugal facing a trio of international fixtures before the end of the month against Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Luxembourg, it is likely that Jota will feature heavily for his country having played so well for us so far as well as for them back in October/November where he played a huge part in their recent victories with 3 goals and 2 assists from 6 games.

Hopefully, Jota will return fit and firing to help push for a top-four spot before the end of the season and maybe with some luck, a possible trophy in the Champions League.
