Liverpool and Real Madrid are set to battle it out on the transfer field for another midfielder after Madrid won the tug of war for Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to Mirror Sport, Real Madrid are hopeful of beating Liverpool to the signing of Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after talents in world football, so it’s no surprise this year’s two Champions League finalists are in contention for his signature.
The 18-year-old has reportedly been part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for a while and Liverpool would be willing to break the bank next summer to see off Real Madrid’s interest in the youngster.

The report claims that to combat this, Madrid are currently considering offering a £78m bid for Bellingham this summer and loaning him back to Dortmund for the 2022/23 campaign.
Dortmund have already lost one of their star men this summer; Erling Haaland left the club to join Manchester City in a deal worth around £51m.
Liverpool have also just spent £85m on club-record signing on Darwin Nunez; meaning a big-money move for Bellingham this summer may be out of the question.
The 18-year-old appeared 44 times for Dortmund in all competitions this season; scoring six and assisting 14 in an impressive season for the former Birmingham City man.
