Liverpool & Arsenal Agree Ox Fee

Following on from the earlier speculation that Liverpool had entered the fray for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sky Sports were reporting an update a few minutes ago – and apparently both clubs have agreed a £35million deal for the midfielder.

With Sky reporting Chelsea’s interest yesterday for a similar fee, earlier today they reported that Oxlade-Chamberlain himself preferred a move to Anfield and had rejected Chelsea’s interest in him.

They say that this evening the 24 year old has at least provisionally agreed a six year deal but full personal terms still need to be thrashed out, but both clubs have come to an agreement on price in the last few hours.

The deal will be £35million upfront with a potential £5million based on addons.

We’ll soon know if this has legs as whilst Oxlade-Chamberlain is away with the England camp, and with a medical booked, all Sky won’t speculate on is whether it will take place at St George’s Park or up on Merseyside.
