A season of embarrassment continued on Sunday against Blackpool with another defeat against a side that we shouldn’t be losing to. Not only are the supporter’s getting on Dumb and Dumbers backs (rightly) the first signs of discontent against Roy Hodgson were seen on Sunday when Kenny Dalglish’s name was sung. Roy says that he understands the frustration being shown and accepts full responsibility, as he’s the Boss, as he explained:

‘The fans are entitled to voice their frustrations, they are a frustrated group at the moment.

‘I am the one responsible because I am the team manager. When the team does badly then the criticism is going to fall my way and I have to accept it.’

The Reds Boss again highlighted the hard work and effort that’ll need to go into turning the situation around and took a bit of heart from the second half showing however knows that he can’t put a positive spin on things at the moment with it difficult to see a brightness at all, Roy added:

‘We were really anxious to get back on the right track with this result but we were unable to do it and no words will make the situation any better.

‘It is pointless to try to be positive because we lost the game.

‘Their great result is our nightmare result. It is a very bad day. At the moment things look bleak and really bad and it is difficult for me to put a bright face upon it.’

He’s right, he’s the Boss and despite the troubles off the field with the owners (which isn’t helping) he’s still got a squad that’s more than capable of being much higher than we currently are in the Premier League and things aren’t acceptable.
