Changing Of The Vital Guard
Vital Liverpool’s editor Gerry Ormonde is unfortunately stepping down, and it is I, Chubby who will be stepping in with the aim of filling this breach.
I would like to be the first to thanks Gerry for all his hard work and effort on VL (I will abbreviate Vital Liverpool to VL to save time and effort) during his tenure, although I hope that he will continue to contribute to the website from time to time as the door has well and truly been left open for him.
I don’t know what people will expect from me, but I will be looking to keep VL up to date with the goings on in and around Anfield and anything else Liverpool related past, present or future. Contributions from all would be appreciated, so if anyone would like to help with the running of the site by putting forward any ideas please share them with me as I am a simple email away. I would like everyone to get heavily involved and hope that you will share your thoughts on my writings. I also plan to make full use of the forum side of VL, regularly linking to this and taking your views from within to base articles around them.
As I am a Pool fan in exile these days so my shift patterns, the lack of money (we can all relate to that can’t we) and the exile fact means that I am unable to attend many matches anymore with the season ticket now gone, so if anyone would be willing to contribute reports for matches that would be a major help for me as there is nothing worse than trying to write about something that you can’t see first hand, and that is what I would be doing!
I will warn you now that I do not go along with all this spiteful, vengeful hatred among fans. I can’t see the point in it, and will not be looking to incite unnecessary rivalries with other Vital Football sites, life it to short. However I will not try to sugar coat anything, and won’t be making any outrageous claims of things that Liverpool will or won’t achieve. I believe in being honest, even if this is brutally so, so I will not be looking to be any different on VL than I am in the everyday world. So, as an example, as much as I would hope that we can challenge for the Premier League crown this season I will not be making statements saying that we will and so on, as although we really should be much closer in this challenge this season with a pairing of Fernando Torres and Robbie Keane I don’t believe that we will win the Premier League this season. But I would love to be proven wrong of course.
Thanks once again to Gerry, who I again hope continues to contribute to VL. Hopefully I can live up to his standards and help make VL one of the best Reds sites around.
