Liverpool often finds themselves linked with a move for some of the finest talents in Europe and this summer will see no exception to that rule with them already heavily involved in the rumour mill.

One of the latest names that has been linked with a move to the club is that of RB Leipzig’s French centre-back Ibrahima Konaté, with the 21-year-old reportedly close to joining the club with the Reds trying to finalise a deal before the summer transfer window opens in a few months time.

Will Klopp improve the Liverpool squad this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, it appears as though the club will have to face some tough competition for the youngsters signature in the summer according to ESPN, with both Chelsea and Manchester United in contact with Leipzig about Konaté but apparently, the player s edging closer to a move to Merseyside, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

With the confidence in the news that Konaté is favoring a move to Liverpool, it definitely calms the waters in regards to the possible competition for his signature in my opinion.

Not only this but RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi also tweeted this morning that the talk of other club’s being interested and them discussing the player’s options are essentially a smokescreen after other sources say that the Frenchman has already completed a medical test in Paris for the Reds…

Whatever the real situation is, it is safe to say that the club are working tirelessly to get a deal done for Konaté, and rightly so, as I think he would be a fantastic addition to the club.

What do you think Liverpool fans, will Konaté join the Reds? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
