Barcelona cannot register midfielder Gavi with La Liga because of their current financial problems. However, they agreed on a new contract with the player recently. This comes as music to the ears of Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, as they were interested in bringing in the talented midfielder to help solve their crisis.

The young midfielder was rewarded with a new contract since breaking into the first team last year. But although the Catalan giants have agreed on new terms with the teenager whereby he signed an agreement that would ensure he stays at Barcelona till 2026 with a bumper release clause of £1 billion, La Liga refused to sanction the new deal citing Barcelona’s financial troubles.

Barcelona will have to find a way around to ensure that they can keep their talented midfielder, who has become a mainstay in their lineup and the national side of Spain.

Gavi has played 74 games for the Barcelona senior side and scored thrice. He has been compared to former Barcelona greats like Andres Iniesta and his current manager Xavi due to his dribbling, anticipation, awareness, vision, distribution, first touch, ball control, change of speed, and ability to turn in tight situations and start counterattacks.

This uncertainty, however, opens the door for other cubs, such as Liverpool, to approach Gavi.

Gavi is currently registered as a youth player until the new contract goes through. However, according to ESPN, sources have told them LaLiga had turned down Barca’s request because the club has no room to register Gavi within their squad spending limit.

Liverpool fans hope this is a chance for them to bring a proven young talent to their squad. What do you think? Are there any chances of a cheeky bid from Jurgen?
