With the January transfer window now open and with the transfer speculation set to be as hot as the action on the pitch, it wouldn’t surprise me if Nathaniel Clyne was to leave the club.

Clyne, 27-years-of-age, was brought to the club from Southampton, a route several have taken in recent times, however, the right-back, who has played for England, has failed to nail down a regular place in the starting eleven this season.

As a consequence, speculation continues to gather momentum inferring that Clyne will be moving on.

According to the tabloid publication, the Mirror, three Premier League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of the defender, with Cardiff City, Fulham and Leicester City getting honourable mentions.

Out of the trio, only Leicester City are not involved in a relegation battle with our thinking be that Clyne might be reluctant to swap life at a club chasing the Premier League title for life at a club facing a fight to preserve their top-flight status.

Here at Vital Liverpool, we’ll do our utmost to keep you abreast of any developments regarding the future of Clyne.
