Which players are struggling to be fit for West Bromwich Albion vs. Liverpool?…
It’s largely a case of ‘how you were’ for Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp with the German again minus a host of key players for Sunday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Klopp confirmed he hopes to have midfielders Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana back in the next fortnight but neither will be on show at the Hawthorns.
The England internationals are being kept company on the sidelines by long-term absentees Ovie Ejaria (ruptured syndesmosis), Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and recent addition Sadio Mané (all knee).
Selection wise, Klopp is almost certain to recall Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino to his starting X1 after the pair both scored from the bench in last weekend’s 2-1 victory at Stoke City.
The notable list of absentees could see the former Borussia Dortmund boss persevere with the 3-5-2 formation that helped to deliver a first away win of 2017 last time out.
By contrast to the Merseysiders, West Brom chief Tony Pulis could have a fully fit squad to choose from for this fixture.
The Baggies have ‘one or two’ unnamed players nursing minor knocks but nothing that is expected to see them ruled out of contention.
Neither side is currently missing any plays through suspension.
