The summer transfer window is fast approaching which means we are likely to see some new faces arrive at the club and some of the well-known members of the squad see the exit door.
It is obvious that the club will need to invest in their defensive options after some of the injuries the club has sustained this season, which has really shown how weak our options outside of the starting pair of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are. There is an argument that Joel Matip has more than enough to start which I don’t doubt, but his injury record goes completely against him having spent so much time on the sidelines.
According to the Sunday World’s Kevin Palmer, the Reds have targeted RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old French centre-back Ibrahim Konate as their key target for the summer, and sources close to the player have suggested that he is eager for the chance to play under Jurgen Klopp in a possible £34 million deal, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

The youngster has been impressive for the German club and has been linked previously with a move to Liverpool on numerous occasions. At just 21, he has grown to become one of the finest defensive talents in Europe and the Reds are right to have a significant amount of interest in securing his signature.
Konate has only featured three times since the turn of the year and failed to feature against us during our two-leg Round of 16 tie over the last few weeks – which is a shame as it would have provided a fantastic opportunity for us to get a glimpse of the quality of player that we are interested in as fans.
