Reds set to play one of their matches at the 107,000 capacity Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor…

Liverpool have become the latest Premier League side to confirm their participation in this summer’s International Champions Cup (ICC).

An article announcing the global tournament will form part of the club’s pre-season plans was published on Liverpoolfc.com on Thursday afternoon.

The Reds join Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in taking part, while Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus are among a string of European heavyweights also set to be involved.

Liverpool last competed in the competition in 2016 when they lost 1-0 to Chelsea in California, defeated AC Milan 2-0 in Santa Clara and impressively dispatched Barcelona 4-0 at Wembley.

According to Sky Sports, one of Liverpool’s 2018 ICC matches will be played at the largest stadium in America, the 107,000 capacity Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.

Fixtures, dates and venues for the competition will be confirmed later this week at an event in Miami.
