Liverpool linked with Juventus star striker

|

Liverpool are in desperate need of midfielders, but that hasn’t stopped numerous rumours linking them to moves for world-class forwards in the coming January transfer window.

The latest rumour sees Jurgen Klopp’s side being linked with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, with the striker desperate for a move away from the Old Lady.

Vlahovic has scored 16 goals in 36 appearances for Juventus, which isn’t a bad return, so it is quite surprising to see he wants to leave considering he only joined the club less than a year ago.

According to Calciomercato, Klopp is ‘willing to do anything’ to sign the striker despite already having a very strong forward line filled with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

It’s reported that Vlahovic is wanting a move away from Juve due to their defensive style of play, adopted by current manager Max Allegri.

However, this move makes zero sense at all for all parties involved. Not only will the move be a waste of money for Liverpool after signing a similar player in Darwin Nunez for £85million just five months ago, but the report also claims that Klopp would be willing to exchange French defender, Ibou Konate, as part of the deal to get Vlahovic.

The Serbian is definitely a great player and would probably be a great signing for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, but the fact is that Liverpool do not need another forward in their ranks at the minute.
