Liverpool: Milan In Denial

When the rumours first broke that Milan Jovanovic had spoken of his desire to leave Liverpool already I’d said that the tabloid that it was in made it far from true. And sure enough the Serbian has denied making these comments, as he explained to Liverpoolfc.tv:

‘I haven’t spoken to any journalists other than Liverpool’s own club journalists. I am angry. I am new here and all I’m trying to do is work and do what’s best for the team. It’s not important that I am on the bench.

‘I have signed a contract for three years and I want to stay for three years.

‘I feel very good at Liverpool and better players than me sit on the bench whether it’s here or anywhere else. I have to learn and work to be better – it’s not a problem.’

The 29 year old didn’t expect to walk straight into the side and knew that he’d face a battle for his place and he’s happy to be in this battle however the situation with the team as a whole is the most important thing and getting up and running as a team is the priority, as he also explained:

‘I expected a challenge. I expected sometimes to be in the team and sometimes not.

‘And also, I don’t want to speak about myself – it’s much more important to talk about the team.’

I’m sure that Milan is having a bit of difficulty adapting to life in England, players that come over to England (or any other country) understandably will do and if they’ve become accustomed to one way of life it can be hard to adapt however more often than not they do but it’s got to work with effort from both sides.
