With the summer transfer window looming around the corner, Liverpool are reportedly in the market for at least one new attacker to join the club ahead of next season.

The club signed Diogo Jota from Wolves back in September last year and since then the forward has impressed hugely for the Reds with his goalscoring form for in the league and Champions League, as well as for his native Portugal over this season’s international breaks.

This led to the club’s current No.9 Roberto Firmino spending some time on the sidelines here and there throughout the current season which has led to plenty of speculation over his future at the club, which has been fueled over the last few weeks. La Liga club Atletico Madrid are reportedly after Firmino in the summer and the Reds have named their price for the Brazilian, with them wanting €55million for his signature, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

It would be a huge shame to see Firmino leave as I have said before, his contributions to this club during his time here have been nothing short of incredible with him becoming a part of a squad that has won almost everything they possibly could.

One of the main issues that have arisen over this season has been Firmino’s goalscoring numbers which in his defence, hasn’t been something he has to worry about before, and yet still he has managed to contribute where he can despite being the provider for the likes of Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah who have been the sole goalscorers over the last few seasons.

Does Firmino deserve more respect from fans?

If Firmino does leave in the summer he will no doubt be given a hero’s departure as he has grown to become one of my favourite Liverpool players with his flair and personality on the pitch. Despite people’s opinions on his goalscoring numbers, he has always delivered during the big games and he will leave a huge hole in the Liverpool attack.

What do you think Liverpool fans, will you miss Firmino if he leaves? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
