As a result of the senior side qualifying for the Champions League, Liverpool’s youngsters will also be participating in European football this term…

The 2014-15 season represents the second instalment of UEFA’s new Youth League which features U19 teams from the 32 clubs who’ve qualified for the Champions League group stage.

The format mirrors that of the senior competition with clubs ultimately competing to lift the Lennart Johansson Trophy, currently held by the inaugural victors Barcelona.

Like Brendan Rodgers’ first team, the youngsters will begin their campaign with a home fixture against Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets Razgrad next week.

The climax to this year’s competition will take place at the Colovray Stadium in Switzerland with both semi-finals and the final being played over a four-day period at the end of April.
