The lowdown on the man in the middle for Liverpool’s hosting of AFC Bournemouth on Saturday…

The Premier League has announced the officiating teams who will be taking charge of top-flight fixtures during Matchweek 34 of the 2017/18 season.

The players of Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth, who meet at Anfield for a 5.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, April 14, will be joined on the pitch by referee Chris Kavanagh.

Lee Betts and Peter Kirkup are his designated assistants, while Bobby Madley will be patrolling the technical areas in the role of fourth official.

Kavanagh’s 25 previous games this season have yielded a total of 83 yellow cards and four red. Three of the reds have been brandished in his past six outings.

Kavanagh’s yellow card average this campaign currently stands at 3.32-per-game, with a red card shown every 6.25 matches.

This will be the first time both Liverpool and Bournemouth have ever encountered the Manchester native, who was the fourth official for last weekend’s Merseyside derby.

Kavanagh is associated with the Manchester Football Association and is in his first season with the Select Group of Premier League referees.
