Chelsea have become the latest side that are rumoured to be interested in signing Yossi Benayoun. Rumours continue that the Israeli could leave Liverpool in the summer and a Chelsea insider says that the Premier League and FA Cup winners are considering an approach from the midfielder, as they explained to Soccernet:
‘There is no doubt that Yossi Benayoun is highly thought of at the club, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he came to Chelsea.’
The Israeli international is believed to be viewed as an ideal replacement for Joe Cole, who looks likely to leave Chelsea on a free transfer this summer, and should the price be right Yossi would most likely be sold and Chelsea could make an appealing destination for him?
In other Reds news, more on transfers out of the club, Robbie Threlfall looks likely to become the first player to leave Anfield this summer. The young left back will leave the Reds at the end of his contract and Skysports.com is saying that several clubs have been alerted to his availability following a successful loan with Bradford this season.
