The summer acquisition’s outstanding debut campaign is recognised at the club’s annual Players’ Awards…

Sadio Mané has succeeded back-to-back winner Philippe Coutinho as Liverpool FC’s official Player of the Season.

The Senegalese speedster also scooped the Player’s Player of the Season accolade at the club’s annual awards ceremony held at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The well-deserved honour comes despite Mané missing a month of the campaign whilst on Africa Cup of Nations duty in January and subsequently suffering a season-ending knee injury against Everton on April 1.

The attacker, who notched 13 goals in 29 appearances following a £34million move from Southampton in June, bought a new dimension to Liverpool’s attacking play via his width, pace and directness.

Elsewhere, full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold won the Young Player of the Season award, Emre Can‘s stunning scissors kick against Watford last week bagged him Goal of the Season and Ben Woodburn was named Academy Player of the Season.
