Liverpool played Chelsea, also known as the Blues, on July 22, 2020. Georginio Wijaldum, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita gave the Reds an early lead after scoring one goal each. Oliver Giroud scored a goal for the Blues before half time.

A few minutes into the second half, Roberto Firmino scored the fourth goal for Jürgen’s side. Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham scored a goal each for Chelsea and increased their chances of equalizing. But, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sealed the win for Liverpool when he scored their fifth goal.

Mateo Kovacic challenged Sadio Mane and the referee gave the Reds a free kick that Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s manager, disapproved of. He started a heated argument with Jürgen and warned the Liverpool boss not to get over excited with the lead.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Lampard said that he doesn’t hold a grudge against Klopp. He praised him for managing Liverpool well and leading them to win the 2019/2020 Premier League title. The manager was irked by Jürgen’s arrogance after Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the fifth goal for his side. Frank admitted that it is normal for coaches and club managers to get emotional in match play.

Jordan Henderson lifted the English Premier League trophy and the long anticipated celebrations began in Anfield. About 3,000 Liverpool supporters assembled outside the stadium, according to a report by Merseyside Police. The cops arrested nine fans for assault, affray, drug driving and being disorderly. Some soccer enthusiasts lit flairs when Jordan received the trophy.
