According to an exclusive report from calciomercato, Inter Milan are yet to receive an ‘official’ offer for colossus Marcelo Brozovic despite reports that have stated Liverpool are in direct contact with the player’s representatives.

Brozovic, who has started 22 Serie A games this season, scoring three goals and assisting five others in the process, is currently being touted with a move to the Reds – and a recent report from the Daily Mirror claims our club are in direct contact with the player’s agents over a potential move.

Should Liverpool swoop for Brozovic?

No

However, as per this calciomercato exclusive, it appears we may not be as serious in landing the Croatian international after-all – with sources close to the club stating that nobody has come forward with a serious offer or proposal to trigger Brozovic’s €60 million release clause (£52 million).

The 27-year-old, while making 23 league appearances in total including substitute cameos, could be a decent compliment to current Reds crop Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson – especially when taking into account he has averaged more tackles this campaign than the latter man according to WhoScored.

Brozovic, in total, has also made more interceptions this season than all three of Jurgen Klopp’s men – potentially hinting that he could be worth every penny of the £52 million that we would theoretically have to splash in order to make the player swap Milan for Merseyside.

As of yet, we appear to still be hesitant in making an official offer for the player, but if recent reports are to be believed, hopefully our contact with his representatives will yield some kind of positive outcome.
