Liverpool star returns to UK after injury blow

|

Just as Liverpool’s injury problems seemed to be over with the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Naby Keita and Joel Matip all returning, Jurgen Klopp has been dealt another blow.

Luis Diaz has travelled back to the UK from Dubai after just a couple of days at the training camp,  with the forward suffering a major setback in his recovery from a knee injury sustained over two months ago. [The Telegraph]

The forward had been sidelines since the Reds’ 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium at the beginning of October and it’s fair to say that Klopp’s side have missed his work rate and flair down their left-hand side.

With many fans being extremely excited to have the Colombian back from injury, this news will definitely disappoint many Reds.

Thankfully, as it stands, Liverpool will not be left with no player able to slot into that left-wing position like the problem they had before.

Diogo Jota has returned from his calf injury that he sustained against Manchester City in October, meaning he is more than capable of slotting into that position.

Whilst Diaz and Jota were out, Klopp mainly opted to play Darwin Nunez or Fabio Carvalho on that side, with Roberto Firmino down the middle and Mohamed Salah on the right.

Hopefully, the Colombian won’t be sidelined for too long and will not miss too many games as Liverpool return to action against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in just under two weeks.
