Entering the competition at the 3rd round stage, Liverpool were not given the tie they’d have hoped for when the draw was made this evening.

With Ruud Gullit and Paul Ince drawing out the balls from the contraption used by the Football Association these days, Liverpool were given a tough assignment.

The draw was far from kind with Liverpool being given an away tie, at Molineux, against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The all Premier League tie will be a tough test and with bigger fish to fry, namely the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp will rotate his squad, giving Wolves hope they can spring a shock.

The ties will take place over the weekend 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 January.

No doubt this all Premier League clash could be one of the games chosen by the BBC or BT Sport to be televised live.

Hopefully, Liverpool will emerge the victors and take their place in the 4th round.
