A selection of the key facts, figures and statistics ahead of the away day at Swansea City…
Another Premier League outing for Liverpool FC is fast approaching and, as per usual, we’ve been trawling the record books to bring you all the facts, figures and statistics you need to know about it.
Monday night will see Liverpool looking to prolong their 18-match unbeaten run, and build on the scintillating 4-3 victory over Manchester City last time out, when they travel to Wales to face relegation-threatened Swansea City.
Here’s what caught our eye:
? Liverpool and Swansea City have contested 42 competitive matches during their respective histories with Liverpool leading overall courtesy of 23 wins to 11 defeats and 8 draws (source: 11v11.com).
? The last four Premier League meetings have been shared with two wins apiece, one each at home and away.
? Liverpool’s home victory during that period came just under four weeks ago when a Roberto Firmino double helped the Reds to a thumping 5-0 Boxing Day triumph.
? Liverpool also won, albeit narrowly, on their last trip to the Liberty Stadium – overcoming the Swans 2-1 in October 2016.
? Prior to losing at the Liberty in March of the same year, the Merseysiders had won five league and cup meetings between the two in succession and were unbeaten in eight.
? Liverpool have scored 85 goals in all competitions this season, just seven shy of the tally they managed in the whole of last season (92).
? Since losing to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in October, Liverpool have picked up 16 points from a possible 18 on their travels in the Premier League (P6, W5, D1). The six matches have seen Jürgen Klopp‘s side plunder a phenomenal 21 goals at an average of 3.5 per game.
? The Swans have kept just one clean sheet in their past 10 Premier League games, conceding 20 goals in the process.
? Following Carlos Carvalhal’s arrival at the Liberty in December the Welsh side have picked up four points from a possible nine in the Premier League and also progressed past Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.
? Firmino has five goals in his past three matches against Swansea, including braces in the last two.
? A goal and an assist last time out means Mohamed Salah has now scored 24 times and facilitated another seven strikes in his 30 appearances for Liverpool (all competitions).
? Jordan Ayew has scored in three of his past five Premier League appearances for Swansea – after failing to score in his previous 15 in the competition beforehand.
