Which players are likely to be unavailable when Liverpool take on Stoke City this midweek?…
Kop boss Jürgen Klopp is expected to recall key attacking duo Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino after curiously deciding to rest the pair against rivals Chelsea on Saturday.
Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who were previously the beneficiaries of Klopp’s rotation policy, are likely to make way, although the latter, in particular, is pushing for more game time after another positive performance.
Despite making his comeback from a thigh injury as a late substitute against the Blues, Adam Lallana will probably have to bide his time before being handed his first start of the season.
Elsewhere, Dejan Lovren (back) and Emre Can (unspecified muscular issue) are expected to be passed fit but Nathaniel Clyne remains sidelined with the long-term back injury that recently required surgery.
|Possible Liverpool X1
Hosts Stoke are missing England international shot-stopper Jack Butland because of a broken finger so Lee Grant will deputise.
Defender Geoff Cameron could also miss out due to the lingering after-effects of a concussion suffered in training at the end of October.
Midfielder Stephen Ireland remains hopeful of pulling on a Stoke City shirt again soon but his return from a double leg break, suffered in May 2016, won’t happen this weekend.
Neither side has anyone absent through suspension.
