In a season full of inconsistencies Fabio Aurelio saying that he’s looking for Christmas cheer with maximum points is most likely a little optimistic at first thought. However given a glance at these fixtures, following the match against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, a return of maximum points from these should (at least in theory) be possible.
A Boxing Day match at Blackpool is followed by home matches against Wolves and Bolton and these are all matches (on paper at least) that Liverpool should be capable of winning however we’ve already seen on several occasions this season, and over the past 12 months, that matches we should win and actually do win are different things!
The Christmas period is a hectic time and if we can get through this with as many points as possible, maximum points would be brilliant, then we can most likely go into 2011 with something to build on. The problem is given our inconsistent season to date this is all easier said than done and I’d not be too sure that Aurelio will get his Christmas wish, with the Brazilian also hopeful that he can get a good run of matches together himself.
